Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and update academic programs for quality and relevance. 
  • Ensure accreditation standards and quality assurance. 
  • Oversee curriculum design and instructional materials, encouraging innovation. 
  • Support faculty development, recruitment, and evaluation. 
  • Manage student registration, progress, and grievances. 
  • Monitor enrollment, graduation rates, and student performance; prepare improvement reports. 
  • Allocate resources and assist with budgeting. 
  • Liaise with university administration, government agencies, and accreditation bodies. 
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations. 
  • Drive innovative curricula and contribute to strategic planning.
Duties of Academic Program Directorate Units
These units are responsible for:
  • Overseeing overall academic planning, reporting, staff promotions, scholarships, teaching evaluations, and monitoring and supporting program implementation.
  • Consolidating and organizing academic affairs plans and reports prepared by deans and directors of the learning and teaching core processes.
  • Preparing and presenting the directorate’s individual plans and reports, discussing them with the director, and incorporating them into the main organizational documents.
  • Coordinating staff promotion requests, organizing them, and submitting them to the director when necessary.
  • Monitoring staff teaching performance evaluations, collecting data from colleges, analyzing the results, obtaining the director’s signatures, and providing feedback to staff.
Deliverology and Staff Development Coordinator
The office responsible for:
  • Communicate with MoE on innovative ideas, policies, and assessments to support the university’s mission. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on tracer studies, job fairs, employability training, and teacher capacity building. 
  • Work with career services, management, deans, and departments to meet strategic goals. 
  • Plan and implement activities to deliver outcomes. 
  • Conduct assessments to identify gaps and plan capacity-building events. 
  • Organize seminars and workshops with industry and university partners. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of office activities.
Student Skill Development Coordination Office (SSDCO)
The office responsible for:
  • Facilitates internships, industrial attachments, and career fairs with industry partners.
  • Offers training in leadership, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.
  • Organizes public speaking clubs, debate sessions, and problem-solving exercises.
  • Provides IT and digital literacy programs, including coding and data analysis basics.
  • Encourages startup culture through business plan competitions and incubation support.
  • Promotes mental health awareness, time management, and ethical professional conduct.
  • Collaborates with academic departments to integrate skill-building into curricula.
  • The SSDCO works closely with industries, NGOs, and alumni to ensure relevant and practical training.
Common course & General Education Expert Department
The office responsible for:
  • To coordinate and manage the implementation of general education courses across departments, ensuring academic quality, alignment with national education standards, and integration of interdisciplinary skills.
  • Design, review, and revise general education curricula (e.g., Communication, Civics, and Critical Thinking).
  • Coordinate the delivery of general education courses across colleges.
  • Train and mentor instructors teaching general education subjects.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching effectiveness and course outcomes.
  • Collaborate with curriculum committees and departments to ensure course relevance.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on course implementation and improvements.
  • Ensure alignment with the Ministry of Education’s guidelines and BHU’s strategic
