Philosophy Department Overview
The Department of Philosophy at Bule Hora University was established in 2019/2020 with an undergraduate program (B.A.) and expanded to include a Master of Arts (M.A.) in 2020/2021. The department fosters critical thinking by examining fundamental assumptions in morality, science, religion, and society. It aims to produce independent thinkers through rigorous philosophical training, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement, with a focus on Ethiopian, African, and global perspectives.

To become a leading center for philosophical education, research, and community service, promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and addressing contemporary ethical, social, and scientific challenges.
