Overview of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Community Development
The Department of Lifelong Learning and Community Development was established in 2008 E.C. and is a foundational department within the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Bule Hora University. Initially part of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, the department was restructured in 2010 E.C. to align with the government's initiative to expand and diversify university education. The department aims to equip students with both theoretical and practical knowledge, enabling them to become competent professionals in various sectors locally, nationally, and internationally. Graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Lifelong Learning and Community Development can pursue careers as community development workers, adult education experts, project coordinators, and more. The department emphasizes the importance of employability skills, ethical practices, and community engagement, and it actively participates in research and community service to address social issues.
