Department Of Environmental Engineering

Background Information
Environmental Engineering is one of the   newly established department in BHU, started in the year 2019 G.C under the College of Engineering and technology.
Now 34 under graduate students are following this department from both batch (3rd and 4th year) of which 5‘s area Females.
The department also offers M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering since last year. Currently the department has 7 teaching staff of which two are Indian Expats.

General Objectives
  • To train high level technical manpower which can participate in the national development activities;
  • To carry out research in the areas of Environment and relevant to the needs of the Country;
  • To render consultancy services to the community.
  • To produce competent and skilled professionals

Mission
Creating Environmental engineers that maintain solution- oriented mindset and hold professional competencies required to design, simulate and implement pollution mitigation facilities and who propose new ways of economic activities which synergistically operate with nature in symbiosis toward creating a green national economy without affecting the environment.

The vision of Environmental Engineering department of Bule Hora University is to see
an industrialized Ethiopia without compromising environmental quality, aesthetics,
Social responsibility and biodiversity of the nation.
